Our Program
About The Program
Austin’s Place is a day program for young adults that have transitioned from secondary learning. The clients are diagnosed with varying degrees of autism, developmental and intellectual disabilities who are moderately to significantly impaired. Austin’s Place identifies individuals who are not able to find success at traditional day programs due to their increased needs and offers them an adapted and person-centered approach to learning.
1:1 Support
Austin’s Place clients all require one-to-one staffing or one-to-one nursing to help meet their daily needs. With 1:1 support being offered, the individuals at Austin’s Place are each afforded the opportunity to work at their own pace and maintain their individual interests and needs while focusing on how best to build on their strengths and desires. It provides each individual the opportunity to choose their own path to independence and decide what they want their life to look like and how they will arrive at their own goals.
Campus Features
The Austin’s Place campus is specifically designed for special needs adults. Campus features include: a therapeutic swimming pool, music garden, two full kitchens, an outdoor recreation center, two sensory rooms, and scenic wooded walking trails (wheelchair accessible).
Off-Campus Opportunities
Austin’s Place has accessible vehicles to provide off-campus opportunities for individuals to interact and volunteer in the local community. Examples of off-campus opportunities include: local parks and shopping centers, museums, the zoo, and more.
