Volunteer at Austin's Place
Have a cool project, a musical talent, or something interesting and unique our clients might enjoy? We’re always welcoming community members to share something with us. For example, in the past, we’ve had visits from turtles and an alpaca named “FriendLee,” a local Fire Department (everyone loved seeing the big fire truck), a talented baton twirler, a fitness instructor, and a Pittsburgh business visit to do a science experiment with our staff. Austin’s Place participates in two main fundraising events each year, and appreciates any and all support.

Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community
Each spring, Austin’s Place participates in a fundraising walk. Highmark Inc. coordinates and underwrites the cost of the walk so that 100 percent of the money raised by walkers goes to the participating nonprofits. You can help by donating, walking, or helping us spread the word to your family and friends. You can form a team to support Austin’s Place, or join the Austin’s Place Team!
The 2025 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community is on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
Austin’s Place Gala
Each fall, Austin’s Place hosts a fundraising gala. The evening includes dinner, drinks, auctions, a keynote speaker, and more. You can support the gala by becoming an event sponsor (monetary donation), donating an item for the auction(s), sponsoring a table for the gala evening, or helping us spread the word to your family and friends.
